Now, Lee is something of a world traveller who is popular wherever in the globe he goes. He’s so popular, in fact, that his first story is the most voted for in our four-year history. And the story itself is so popular it has even found its way to Hollywood. That’s Hollywood, California, folks. Not Holyrood, Edinburgh.
Yes, the director of Sunrise Pictures LLC based in Tinseltown recently came across the story on McStorytellers while searching the web. The company’s producer contacted Lee with the prospect of turning his iconic tale into a short film. A script was put together soon afterwards, filming has now been completed and the finished product will shortly be making the rounds of film competitions and festivals across the world. The movie is called Anonymous, by the way, and that’s an exclusive behind-the-scenes still from the film-making at the top of this post.
Just to prove that oor Lee ain’t no flash in the pan, you’ll find another two dozen of his stories here on McStorytellers. His first novel, The Care Home, was also published by McStorytellers about a year ago and, with 25 five-star reviews so far, has proved to be a bit of a bestseller on Amazon.
And the lad keeps writing! His latest short story, The Drowning Octopus, has been uploaded on the site today. It comes all the way from Taiwan, where Lee now lives and works. Although he left Edinburgh a while ago, he still loves the city, is a champion of Scottish independence and consequently retains his Honorary Scot status.
Howay, man!
